Adipex-P Diet Pill Review

ADIPEX-P Full Brand Name:

ADIPEX-P® Phentermine Hydrochloride USP, 37.5 mg)

What is that Adipex-p:

Adipex-P® slimming pill is an anorectic agent for oral administrationis. One of many Phentermine brand names. As any diet pill under Phentermine generic umbrella, Adipex-P® is a drug primary used as an appetite suppressant, typically prescribed for individuals being at increased medical risk because of their weight. Adipex-P®, an anorectic agent for oral administration, is available as a capsule or tablet containing 37.5 mg of phentermine hydrochloride (equivalent to 30 mg of phentermine base).

How to use Adipex-p:

Adipex-P® weight loss pill is indicated only for short-term (a few weeks) usage in combination with other healthy diet programs based on exercise and behavioral modification for patients with an initial body mass index ≥30 kg/m2, or ≥27 kg/m2 in the presence of other risk factors (e.g., hypertension, diabetes, hyperlipidemia).
The usual adult dose is one capsule or tablet (37.5 mg) daily, administered before breakfast or 1-2 hours after breakfast. For tablets, the dosage may be adjusted to the patient’s need. For some patients 1/2 tablet (18.75 mg) daily may be adequate, while in some cases it may be desirable to give 1/2 tablet (18.75 mg) two times a day.
Late evening medication should be avoided because of the possibility of resulting insomnia.
Phentermine is not recommended for use in patients sixteen (16) years of age and under.

When Not to use Adipex-p pill:

Avoid using Adipex-P® diet pill if you have:
  • Advanced arteriosclerosis.
  • Agitated states.
  • Cardiovascular disease.
  • Moderate to severe
  • Hypertension.
  • Hyperthyroidism, known hypersensitivity or idiosyncrasy to the sympathomimetic amines, glaucoma.
  • A history of drug abuse.

Not to do:

Avoid using Adipex-P®  diet pill with alcohol.
The recommended Adipex-P® dose should not be exceeded
in an attempt to increase the effect; rather, the drug should be
discontinued when its effect has decreased (usually within a few weeks).

Adipex-p pill indication and usage

ADIPEX-P®(phentermine hydrochloride) is indicated as a shortterm (a few weeks) adjunct in a regimen of weight reduction based on exercise, behavioral modification and caloric restriction in the management of exogenous obesity for patients with an initial body mass index ≥30 kg/m2, or ≥27 kg/m2 in the presence of other risk factors (e.g., hypertension, diabetes, hyperlipidemia).
BMI is calculated by taking the patient’s weight, in kilograms (kg), divided by the patient’s height, in meters (m), squared. Metric conversions are as follows: pounds ÷ 2.2 = kg; inches x 0.0254 = meters.

Adipex-p diet pill overdosage manifestations and management

Manifestations of acute overdosage with phentermine include restlessness, tremor, hyperreflexia, rapid respiration, confusion, assaultiveness, hallucinations, panic states. Fatigue and depression usually follow the central stimulation. Cardiovascular effects include
arrhythmia, hypertension or hypotension, and circulatory collapse.
Gastrointestinal symptoms include nausea, vomiting, diarrhea and abdominal cramps. Fatal poisoning usually terminates in convulsions and coma.

Management of acute phentermine intoxication is largely symptomatic and includes lavage and sedation with a barbiturate. Experience with hemodialysis or peritoneal dialysis is inadequate to permit recommendations in this regard. Acidification of the urine increases phentermine excretion. Intravenous phentolamine (Regitine®, CIBA) has been suggested for possible acute, severe hypertension, if this complicates phentermine overdosage.

What are Adipex-p weight loss pill contraindications?

  • Advanced arteriosclerosis, cardiovascular disease, moderate to severe hypertension, hyperthyroidism, known hypersensitivity or idiosyncrasy to the sympathomimetic amines, glaucoma.
  • Agitated states.

personally, i lost about 17 pounds using adipex, the problem is that i gained all that weight soon back. its was not a permanent solution for me using adipex p. i would advise both exercising and eating healthier. adipex for me was not that good (actually not only for me, i know some friends too with some story as soon as they stop adipex)and it would be difficult to get your doctor to prescribe adipex for you again. good luck anyway, maybe you're luckier with this adipex p!

can somebody tell me what is the relation between phentermine and adipex p .. it's a bit confusing?

Phentermine is the generic name, let 's, an umbrella name for many other diet pills' brand names. Such as:
Adipex-P® (Immediate release)
Duromine® (Slow Realease Resin, New Zealand)
Fastin®
Obephen®
Obermine®
Anoxine-AM®
Ionamin® (Slow Release Resin, Australia)

As you can see Adipex-p is one of those diet pills based on Phentermine but manufactured by other company.

I started taking Adipex on Thursday and I have lost 5 lbs already ( sunday). Some of you people need to understand this is just to help you stablize your weight not help you lose weight forever! of course once you stop taking it you will gain the weight back but its up to YOU to manage your diet and maintain a healthy eating style, noone ever said this was a quick fix!

I had excellent results from the Adipex (Phentermine) and kept the weight off afterwards. I lost 12 lbs the first month, 8 the next, and then for the next 6 months it stayed between 5-9 lbs per month til I reached my goal. Gives you lots of energy and doesn't make you feel hungry.
